End Mileage: 183427

Start Mileage: 183311

Distance Travelled: 116

Lots of people leaving the camp site today - we managed a slow start but not too far off 10am leaving Wanaka.

Woo hoo - nice sunny day as well - although still chilly.

Managed the first vineyard at 10:50 - Kawarau Estate and just looked!

Aurum Wines was next where there were purchases.

Next was a place called The Big Picture which is a restaurant and takes you through the vineyards in the area and some information about wine.

Mt Difficulty was next - oh ok so we brought some wine here as well.

We then tried Olssens, Akarua, carrick and Bald Hills. Wow four vineyards and we didn't buy anything - see we don't have to purchase! Then there was Quartz Reef - it was closed. :-) Also closed was the Central Otago Wine Company and Rockburn whilst it was open was closed to the public for a private function.

Oh oh Wooing Tree. OK so we brought this time! But it was nice.

Got to Clyde and checked in. Did a load of washing and then off on a bike ride. We went down the western side of Clutha River from Clyde to Alexandra on a ride of about 13 km. It was great - ended up in Alexandra just by the bridge. We then found the rail trail and cycled that back to Clyde via Robyn and Steve's. Great to catch up with them and of course meet Whiskey and say hi to Bob, Benj and Mag!

Back to tidy up and clean up at the camp site and then out for dinner with Robyn and Steve to The Fat Badger in Alexandra.

Clyde camp site views.
